“Xinjiang Power into Chongqing” Project
The Xinjiang sending station of the Hami-Chongqing ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project (referred to as the “Xinjiang Power into Chongqing” project), a major project of the “14th Five-Year Plan” of the country, successfully completed the installation of 14 bipolar low-end converter transformers, marking a key progress in the construction of my country’s important “Shagohuang” new energy transmission channel. With the Xinjiang sending station fully entering the peak period of commissioning and testing, the “Xinjiang Power into Chongqing” project has entered the final sprint stage.
After the project is put into operation, it can transmit more than 36 billion kWh of electricity to Chongqing each year, with clean energy accounting for more than 50%. It can replace 6 million tons of coal consumption and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 16.5 million tons each year. This will not only significantly enhance the supply guarantee capacity of Chongqing’s power grid, but also effectively promote the transformation of Xinjiang’s energy resource advantages and serve the overall situation of national energy supply.
China has built many UHV transmission lines and made great contributions to energy conservation and emission reduction in the world.
